It is not enough:
Help us get familiar with basic and general scientific ideas
Science is progressing so rapidly
Every day there are a lot of developments

Books and TV programs

• Books: people don’t tend to read them
   
• TV programs: are entertaining people more than educating them

Why do people need to understand science?

To be able to make decisions on important global issues like:

• Food supply
• Greenhouse effect
• Nuclear weapons

Nuclear weapons:

• Destroying human life on this planet
