Contextual Analysis:

Use research to ground your analysis in specific historical, social, or political contexts relevant to your photograph.

 

Research & Citations:

Your paper must include at least 2 scholarly sources* that provide background on your photograph, the cultural context of the the time it was made, art historical interpretations of his style, or related topics.

*Scholarly sources are generally defined as peer-reviewed academic articles and books

For this assignment, we're broadening the category to mean high quality sources from the library or a museum.
