What are iBeacons?
- Small hardware device that emits a low level bluetooth signal broadcasting their identity which was introduced by Apple In 2013.
- In order to pick up this signal applications on a user's mobile device must be listening for the broadcast.
- Once the application picks up this broadcast it can determine where a user is based on the location of the iBeacon and display informatin related to that location.
- In 2015 Google created it’s own type of beacon protocol which is similar to the iBeacon, but they have the ability to broadcast a URL so that specific applications don’t have to be installed on a user's mobile device.

Although iBeacons are a relatively new technology there are a number of industries leveraging this new technology to better engage their customers.

How Can Big Iron Sports Use iBeacons?
- Position iBeacons at specific vehicles.
- As the user walks through the showroom, with an iPad/tablet provided by Big Iron Sports upon entry, the iPad can automatically switch to the vehicle they are currently next to.
- Allow the user to see more information, compare one vehicle to another, email themselves information about that vehicle, see what it looks like in other available colors.
